Biology Museum

Sometimes I can remember extreme details in a dream. This one is short, but one thing stood clearly in my mind after awakening…

Setting: Biology museum. First person.
Plot: Just exploring.

As I’m wandering though this museum, I have a reptilian blowfish guide, explaining different alien creatures that we come across. There is one lizard that I take particular interest in, called a Red Ring-tailed Newt. We don’t get too far into the tour before I wake up.

Elemental

Some dreams are emotional. Rarely I’ll wake up crying, laughing, or really really mad. This one had me wake up with tears in my eyes. However, I’ll commonly have dreams where I have a dog that can somehow communicate, and those are the best.

Setting: Ancient Elemental Temple grounds. Third person view.
Plot: Someone has stolen the elemental orbs out of their temples, which has woken up the elemental beasts. They’re angry, killing anything that steps near their shrines.

In each temple, there’s a designated place to put the orb, but you have to get past the dragon beast in order to put it back, who is huge and vicious. Oh, and there’s a pack of evil dogs tracking us from temple to temple trying to kill us. Luckily, I have a talking Australian Shepherd dog companion, who has blond fur.

I had just put back the “rock” elemental orb, and I have one orb left, “air”. My dog and I go to the air shrine, which is a small room with yellow trees and yellow leaves thickly covering the floor. We barricade the door, so the bad dogs can’t get in. The shrine is near the top of a tree. I look through my briefcase to find something that’ll help us. All I have is napkins…

I finally decide to climb the tree, but my dog keeps telling me we don’t have enough time, that the bad dogs are going to get through the door. He then proceeds to run to the door, trying to get OUT, to sacrifice himself to give me more time to climb up the tree and put the air orb back in place. I’m so devastated by this, I run to the door to try to keep it closed, yelling at my dog to stop. I try rewinding my dream to try and find another way to keep my dog from sacrificing himself, but can’t convince him. Eventually, one evil dog makes it through the door, and I knock him out with my briefcase. I wake up.

The Ninja Cats

This is one of my favorites. A repeating pattern I find in most of my dreams is that I can save/load, like a video game. This is quite fantastic, because I never feel like I’m in mortal danger, and if I mess up I can try again. Here is a perfect example:

Setting: Civilization (game) dreamscape, snowy mountains. First person view.
Objective: I’m a wolf in a wolf pack, at war with the ninja cats. We have to ask the mighty gryphon for help, but he wants a magic ring (which the governor possesses) in exchange. However, the Ninja cat clan wants the magic ring as well…

Our wolf pack makes it to the governors cabin in the mountains, but we have to be sneaky if we want the ring. We walk right in and see the ring on the floor, so one of our pack members distracts the governor by talking to him so we can steal it. Unfortunately, he notices, and we get a game over. Load!

New tactic. We distract the governor by talking to him again and trying to get him to come outside. However, it takes to long to convince him, and a black ninja cat climbs through the window, stealing the ring for himself. Dang. Load!

Convinced that distracting the governor isn’t going to work, I just tell him the truth. “We need the ring to give to the might gryphon, and any moment now, a black ninja cat is going to climb through your window and steal it. Don’t ask me how I know that, I just do.” Unfortunately, it takes too long to explain, and black ninja cat has already come and gone. LOAD!!!

This is where it gets interesting. This time, I pay no attention to the governor, I just barge into the cabin and hide beside the window, setting a trap for black ninja cat. Sneaky sneaky black ninja cat. Sure enough, he comes, and I grab onto his tail. He freaks out, jumps out the window, trying to shake me loose while at the same time, jumping all the way to the secret ninja cat hideout. Well, actually, it’s a giant castle fortress on the peak of the snowy mountain (also the ninja cat college).

Black ninja cat shakes me off and runs away. I walk up the giant steps into the castle, which has no doors, and I somehow end up in the computer lab. Tons of computers side by side, with cats on every one. I look around, also seeing a railroad station with a friendly monkey man in charge. It’s freezing in here, I ask for a blanket, which I am quickly given. The ninja cats aren’t so bad after all!

I decide the best thing to do is run back to my wolf base and tell the others that this war is pointless. Unfortunately, as we all know, sometimes when playing a video game, you jump a little too far, missing a platform or path. As I was running and jumping back, I did just that, and fell off the mountain. Oops. However, I hadn’t saved since the governors cabin! I hate forgetting to save on a regular basis! Frustrated, I wake up.
